During her time in college, Madison studied indigenous textiles, natural dyeing techniques, and eco-friendly production methods. Her fieldwork in Oʻahu and Samoa shaped her deep respect for traditional craftsmanship and community-rooted design.
💼 Professional Experience
Before founding BebeAloha, Madison held several roles that combined creativity with commerce:
- Freelance Textile Designer for surfwear brands in Hawaii and California
- Design Lead at a sustainable fashion startup in Los Angeles (2012–2016)
- Etsy Shop Owner, where she sold hand-illustrated art prints and fabrics (2015–2019)
- Creative Consultant for emerging POD brands, guiding them in visual storytelling and product sourcing
Each role sharpened her skills in ethical sourcing, digital branding, and customer experience — all of which became pillars for BebeAloha’s model.
🌺 The Story Behind BebeAloha
In 2019, Madison returned to her hometown of Honolulu and felt a calling to create something that would blend her island roots with modern conscious living. She saw a gap in the market: most “tropical” apparel was either cheaply mass-produced or lacked genuine connection to Hawaiian culture.
“I wanted to build a brand that didn’t just print palm trees on shirts — I wanted to tell stories, honor heritage, and offer pieces that people actually feel good wearing.” — Madison
With her background in textile design and experience with on-demand fulfillment, she launched BebeAloha — starting with 12 designs and a mission to do things differently.
